Camera Guy for the National Geographic Society

So, I was somehow lucky enough to land a job shooting and editing for one of the biggest and best photography institutions in the world.  Ever since I was a kid, I was obsessed with all things Nat Geo and wanted desperately to go along with Jim Brandenburg as he photographed wolves in the Arctic.  After years of working in the television news industry and making local tv commercials, I got a call from a buddy of mine from college who somehow landed a gig at Nat Geo and asked if I wanted to move to Washington, D.C. and shoot for them. Long story short, I packed my house up and moved my wife and dog to the nation's capital and haven't looked back.  I've met and worked with so many amazing people, photographers and scientists that everyday I'm still surprised at who I will meet next.  In 2014, Nat Geo sent me to 6 different continents to shoot (Antarctica was soooo close)!  It truly is an amazing gig and I'm loving it while it lasts, but I'm always keeping an eye out for that next adventure.

Nobody knows what’s going to happen. And then we film it. That’s the whole concept.

My Family

My wife Lora and my boy Dignan are my best friends.

Everywhere I've traveled, at home with them is always my favorite place.

My mom took this picture.  She's pretty good!
